June News from Marilyn at MK’s Sew-Able

It’s been a while so make a cuppa, sit down and relax to catch-up with Marilyn at MK’s Sew-Able.

Hello Sewing Friends.

It’s been a while so make a Cuppa, sit down, relax, and catch-up with Marilyn at MK’s Sew-Able.

I guess the news that’s on everyone’s lips is, MK’s Sew-Able IS for Sale. This is a wonderful local business, created by me and built by listening to your needs, a business with the potential to diversify into other areas. For Genuine enquiries, please contact me for an appointment to discuss this further.

Phone the Shop 0746 388 288 or by email at mkworking@bigpond.com.

My realtor has suggested that I reduce my stock cost for any prospective purchaser. You will notice that I will be having more than the normal EOFY and Carnival Sales.

Please be aware that on windy days, the front entry door can be pulled open by the force of the wind, this can be very sudden and we have had 2 Glass panels smashed in the past. On these days, we will have a sign on the door to say that the door is locked. Beside the danger of having the door slam into you or wrenching your shoulder, there is also the chance that if you are parked too close to the door, your car will be damaged.

PFAFF Quilt Binding Attachment $159.00. I am playing with this and hope to be competent when you want to come for a look. You do need a special foot plate, but if you have purchased the Expression 710 720 or the Performance or Icon machines, you will have the correct plate on your machine.

PFAFF has introduced new machines to the range. There are additions to the Ambition line, the Ambition 610 at $1490 and the Ambition 630, at $2190.

The Expression 710 is now on my bench at $3590, a saving of $1000.

The Expression 720 has much to offer the Specialist wanting to go further than just stitching. I enjoyed selling this one, a pleasure to stitch on. Special price $4590.

Well, this has a whole new concept to it now. It seems to be very “On the spur of the moment’ with ‘Old” things Finished and ‘New’ things begin on Wednesdays. I call this group, the ‘ODDS’ (when I wrote this on the whiteboard it looked like I’d written 000 and sometimes these girls have little 000 events). I help them to finish Projects like the Shady Daisy, Bali Star and the Poinsettia Quilts, or help them read and understand their patterns etc, but, we may start unplanned Projects, like Table runners, Coasters, Monica Poole Appliques and Pin/Scrap bags and more. The rule book has been thrown away, I appreciate forewarning but we try to accommodate all requests.

Free motion Quilting Class: We are planning to do another in the near future so please contact us to secure a spot and we will promote a date as soon as we have numbers.

I had a few problems producing this newsletter. It seemed that every button I pushed was the wrong one, so I called on Carolyn Brown of Time Made and now I am up and running again. She is so helpful and so patient. Check out her site https//timemade.com.au

I will leave you at this time but you will have my emails more frequently in the future as I try to decrease these stock levels. Don’t forget to check the Blog from time to time.

Until next time, Take care of each other, Take time to Stitch, and Remember, If you see someone without a Smile, give them one of Yours, it’s Free.

MK's Sew-Able is a Patchwork/Quilting Fabric Store where you can not only buy fabric but a PFAFF Quilting/Sewing Machine or a HQ Sweet16. I created MK's in January 2005 when I started selling Singer Sewing Machines then expanded the business in April 2007 with PFAFF machines. This expansion included the purchase of Patchwork Fabrics and all that goes with it.
